Rizzani de Eccher, in joint venture with French company Freyssinet, was able to secure this landmark contract thanks to the fruitful cooperation established with leading Australian contractors such as John Holland, MacMahon and Leed.
The South Road Superway project, worth AUD 812 million is the largest road infrastructure investment to date in the region, but it is also the most complex from an engineering perspective.
The project implements the second phase of the new North-South transportation axis over a 4.8km direct link, of which 2.8km between Port River Expressway and Regency Road are on an elevated road. Jointly with other partners, the Rizzani de Eccher-Freyssinet joint venture will handle the design and construction of a portion of the project worth AUD 150 million. This involves the construction of a viaduct with precast segmental decks totalling 100,000sqm including all activities of prefabrication, stocking, transportation and launch in-situ. Group subsidiary DEAL, a technological leader in this sector, has designed and engineered purpose-built equipment specifically for this project so as to guarantee very high production rates and meet the tight delivery deadline of just three years.
