COMPLETION OF THE FIRST HALF OF THE TAGLIAMENTO VIADUCT, A4 HIGHWAY TORINO-TRIESTE, ITALY

On 28 September and 29 September 2018 the new bridge on Tagliamento river has positively been tested through a load test preparatory to static tests.
The bridge has been built as part of the A4 lane extension works. It is located next to the already existing bridge and covers one and an half kilometres, in between the river banks. The project features two parallel 20,3-m-large viaducts, each made of 20 spans, with a typical span length of 81,6 m.
Decks are made up of concrete segments precasted in a yard near the Latisana tollbooth and launched by a special construction equipment
